Answer: i quit using vaccuumon hard wood floors i use a dust mop instead works great!!

I have an Oreck XL, and I love it for my hardwood floors! It's also great for going from the wood onto area rugs or carpeted areas. You don't have to adjust the height on it, because it isn't raised the same way other vacuums are.

It is not cheap, but I think
