* Upright vacuum with 12-amp motor cleans carpets and hard floors

I’m very pleased with my Amazon-purchased Eureka Boss Smart HEPA Vacuum 4870MZ . We’ve had it for nearly two years now, and it performs flawlessly. I like it so much, in fact, that I just ordered one for my mom. The previous reviews cover many of the pros and cons, but there are a few things I’d like to accentuate.

This is not a “true HEPA” (meaning fully sealed, gasketed) vacuum, such as the kind used for cleaning lead or asbestos dust. Then again, it doesn’t cost $1,200 either. I mention this because the term HEPA has become a bit of a gimmick and is potentially misleading. When I researched this vacuum I learned vacuums labeled “HEPA” and “true HEPA” are quite different. HOWEVER, if you will be using it just to clean your house (and assuming you don’t have really severe allergies and require true HEPA filtration), this  Eureka Boss Smart HEPA Vacuum 4870MZ
