Overview
Controls on the Power Force are straight forward. The bagged PowerForce 71Y7 on/off switch is located on the top left corner of the chassis. The Bagless models utilized a large red foot activated switch at the base. All vacuums have a foot activated handle release to go from “parked” to vacuum mode with three handle positions.
The floor height adjustment is a large, 5 position, dial type knob in the center of the floor head. It is easy to adjust to suit the floor surface type. The one major flaw with the PowerForce vacuum cleaners is that the brush roll is always active, whether you’re vacuuming bare floors or doing above floor work. This can lead to carpet and bare floor damage if left in one spot too long and reduced bare floor performance as the brush roll tends to flip debris out from under the floor head when on hard surfaces....
